Hi there, and a big warm welcome to my vibrant little corner of the business world! 

I’m Shirley 💙🐾🩷,  an enthusiastic animal lover, dreamer, wife to hubby, Marlon, and proud mom to two amazing young ladies, Jasmine & Emma. Along with our adorable fur babies! My adventure with animals kicked off with the incredible experience of fostering neonatal kittens and puppies, and it has blossomed into an all-consuming passion! Right now, my home is filled with the love of six playful kitties and one wonderful dog—Lucky, a spirited Doberman who is the best pal anyone could ask for! 

Originally hailing from the stunning island of Puerto Rico, I’ve explored the beauty of New England, soaked up the sun in Florida, but I’ve finally found my forever paradise in vibrant Virginia Beach. Our family has made Hampton Roads our cherished home, and I decided to turn my dream into reality by providing exceptional care for your lovable pets after facing the challenge of finding trustworthy care for my own furry crew.

I started this journey in 2023 with my oldest daughter, Jasmine. As she sets off on her new adventures in adulthood with her loyal furry friend, Milo, by her side down south, I can’t help but reflect on all the wonderful moments we’ve had.

The name "Bells & Spikes" holds a special place in my heart. Spike was our beloved companion who filled our lives with happiness for an unforgettable 12 years before crossing the rainbow bridge. 

Bells represents all the Kitty Bells we've saved through love and care. We collaborate with numerous local rescues in the area, reflecting our commitment to making a difference.

Today, I’m thrilled to be the sole owner of Bells & Spikes, working alongside an amazing team of pet-loving sitters who are just as passionate about animals as I am! And guess what? The family business keeps growing! You might have spotted my youngest daughter, Emma, tagging along on some visits as she trains. It’s heartwarming to see her carry on our legacy of love and care for all the furry friends we look after. As I think about the journey of Bells & Spikes Pet Services, I can't help but feel proud and a little nostalgic!

Every day brings me so much joy, fueled by my passion for animals. It truly makes my day when clients notice the little details in my care and send me sweet messages of trust and appreciation. These moments are a wonderful reminder of why I love this job so much—nurturing pets with all the love and attention they deserve.
